28:0Prayer for Help and Thanksgiving for It.
Of David.
28:1To you, O Lord , I call; my rock, do not refuse to hear me, for if you are silent to me, I shall be like those who go down to the Pit.
28:2Hear the voice of my supplication, as I cry to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary.
28:3Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who are workers of evil, who speak peace with their neighbors, while mischief is in their hearts.
28:4Repay them according to their work, and according to the evil of their deeds; repay them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.
28:5Because they do not regard the works of the Lord , or the work of his hands, he will break them down and build them up no more.
28:6Blessed be the Lord , for he has heard the sound of my pleadings.
28:7The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
28:8The Lord is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
28:9O save your people, and bless your heritage; be their shepherd, and carry them forever.
99:0Praise to God for His Holiness
99:1The Lord is king; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
99:2The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples.
99:3Let them praise your great and awesome name. Holy is he!
99:4Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
99:5Extol the Lord our God; worship at his footstool. Holy is he!
99:6Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called on his name. They cried to the Lord , and he answered them.
99:7He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept his decrees, and the statutes that he gave them.
99:8O Lord our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God to them, but an avenger of their wrongdoings.
99:9Extol the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy.
138:0Thanksgiving and Praise.
Of David.
138:1I give you thanks, O Lord , with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise;
138:2I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness; for you have exalted your name and your word above everything.
138:3On the day I called, you answered me, you increased my strength of soul.
138:4All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O Lord , for they have heard the words of your mouth.
138:5They shall sing of the ways of the Lord , for great is the glory of the Lord .
138:6For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly; but the haughty he perceives from far away.
138:7Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve me against the wrath of my enemies; you stretch out your hand, and your right hand delivers me.
138:8The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord , endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
