77:0God's Mighty Deeds Recalled.
To the leader: according to Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A Psalm.
77:1I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, that he may hear me.
77:2In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying; my soul refuses to be comforted.
77:3I think of God, and I moan; I meditate, and my spirit faints. Selah
77:4You keep my eyelids from closing; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
77:5I consider the days of old, and remember the years of long ago.
77:6I commune with my heart in the night; I meditate and search my spirit:
77:7“Will the Lord spurn forever, and never again be favorable?
77:8Has his steadfast love ceased forever? Are his promises at an end for all time?
77:9Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his compassion?” Selah
77:10And I say, “It is my grief that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”
77:11I will call to mind the deeds of the Lord ; I will remember your wonders of old.
77:12I will meditate on all your work, and muse on your mighty deeds.
77:13Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God?
77:14You are the God who works wonders; you have displayed your might among the peoples.
77:15With your strong arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
77:16When the waters saw you, O God, when the waters saw you, they were afraid; the very deep trembled.
77:17The clouds poured out water; the skies thundered; your arrows flashed on every side.
77:18The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind; your lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook.
77:19Your way was through the sea, your path, through the mighty waters; yet your footprints were unseen.
77:20You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
139:0The Inescapable God.
To the leader. Of David. A Psalm.
139:1O Lord , you have searched me and known me.
139:2You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away.
139:3You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
139:4Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord , you know it completely.
139:5You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
139:6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is so high that I cannot attain it.
139:7Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence?
139:8If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.
139:9If I take the wings of the morning and settle at the farthest limits of the sea,
139:10even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me fast.
139:11If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light around me become night,”
139:12even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to you.
139:13For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
139:14I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well.
139:15My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
139:16Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed.
139:17How weighty to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
139:18I try to count them—they are more than the sand; I come to the end —I am still with you.
139:19O that you would kill the wicked, O God, and that the bloodthirsty would depart from me—
139:20those who speak of you maliciously, and lift themselves up against you for evil!
139:21Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord ? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?
139:22I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies.
139:23Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts.
139:24See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
145:0The Greatness and the Goodness of God.
Praise. Of David.
145:1I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.
145:2Every day I will bless you, and praise your name forever and ever.
145:3Great is the Lord , and greatly to be praised; his greatness is unsearchable.
145:4One generation shall laud your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
145:5On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
145:6The might of your awesome deeds shall be proclaimed, and I will declare your greatness.
145:7They shall celebrate the fame of your abundant goodness, and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
145:8The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
145:9The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.
145:10All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord , and all your faithful shall bless you.
145:11They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom, and tell of your power,
145:12to make known to all people your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
145:13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds.
145:14The Lord upholds all who are falling, and raises up all who are bowed down.
145:15The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season.
145:16You open your hand, satisfying the desire of every living thing.
145:17The Lord is just in all his ways, and kind in all his doings.
145:18The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
145:19He fulfills the desire of all who fear him; he also hears their cry, and saves them.
145:20The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
145:21My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord , and all flesh will bless his holy name forever and ever.
147:0Praise for God's Care for Jerusalem
147:1Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God; for he is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting.
147:2The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
147:3He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.
147:4He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.
147:5Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
147:6The Lord lifts up the downtrodden; he casts the wicked to the ground.
147:7Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre.
147:8He covers the heavens with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, makes grass grow on the hills.
147:9He gives to the animals their food, and to the young ravens when they cry.
147:10His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the speed of a runner;
147:11but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.
