76:0Israel's God—Judge of All the Earth.
To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.
76:1In Judah God is known, his name is great in Israel.
76:2His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.
76:3There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah
76:4Glorious are you, more majestic than the everlasting mountains.
76:5The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; none of the troops was able to lift a hand.
76:6At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned.
76:7But you indeed are awesome! Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused?
76:8From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still
76:9when God rose up to establish judgment, to save all the oppressed of the earth. Selah
76:10Human wrath serves only to praise you, when you bind the last bit of your wrath around you.
76:11Make vows to the Lord your God, and perform them; let all who are around him bring gifts to the one who is awesome,
76:12who cuts off the spirit of princes, who inspires fear in the kings of the earth.
135:0Praise for God's Goodness and Might
135:1Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord ; give praise, O servants of the Lord ,
135:2you that stand in the house of the Lord , in the courts of the house of our God.
135:3Praise the Lord , for the Lord is good; sing to his name, for he is gracious.
135:4For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession.
135:5For I know that the Lord is great; our Lord is above all gods.
135:6Whatever the Lord pleases he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.
135:7He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.
135:8He it was who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, both human beings and animals;
135:9he sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
135:10He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings—
135:11Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan—
135:12and gave their land as a heritage, a heritage to his people Israel.
135:13Your name, O Lord , endures forever, your renown, O Lord , throughout all ages.
135:14For the Lord will vindicate his people, and have compassion on his servants.
135:15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands.
135:16They have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see;
135:17they have ears, but they do not hear, and there is no breath in their mouths.
135:18Those who make them and all who trust them shall become like them.
135:19O house of Israel, bless the Lord! O house of Aaron, bless the Lord!
135:20O house of Levi, bless the Lord! You that fear the Lord , bless the Lord!
135:21Blessed be the Lord from Zion, he who resides in Jerusalem. Praise the Lord!
