TIKAS, SERAPHIM, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece (1913– ). His baptismal name was Vissarion, he became a monk, then in 1938, a deacon. In 1941 he received a diploma in theology from the University of Athens and was ordained priest in 1942. On 11 September 1949, he was made Metropolitan of Arta, in 1958, Metropolitan of Ioannioa, and on 12 January 1974, Archbishop of Athens and Greece.
