GRAMMATA
GRAMMATA. In Greek, literally meaning “letters,” parallel to the English “letter of commendation,” and used as a singular noun in Russian and English, a grammata usually takes the form of a certificate of commendation. It is presented by a bishop or group of hierarchs as a citation and award to an individual or group in recognition of an act of outstanding stewardship.
